Weekend Guide to Jackson, Mississippi

The DL: Though many people don’t seek out Jackson as a vacation spot, its a hidden gem when it comes to the food and people. I went to college in Mississippi and spent a lot of time exploring over the years. If you happen to find your self near or driving through here are some things to do, my weekend guide to Jackson, Mississippi:

How to get to Jackson, Mississippi:

Jackson airport (very tiny, you most likely will go through a big airport like ATL to get here)

You will need a car to get around here, there is no public transportation

Where to stay:

The downtown of Jackson itself is not as popular as the suburb town, as it is in a revitalization stage. I would recommend staying at one of these spots:

  • Homewood Suites Fondren
  • Residence Inn at the District of Eastover
