I’ve always believed that you can’t truly experience the beauty of life without focusing on the details. It’s the small, intentional choices that make the most impact.
About Me:
I am Kristina, born and raised in south Florida, married my college sweetheart Cameron in 2015 and we had our son in 2024. Cam and I met at a small private christian college, Mississippi College where I rode equestrian and he played soccer. He got his MBA at Ole Miss, so hotty toddy!!! and then we moved to Birmingham, Alabama for his job where I eventually got my masters in Communication Management. After a few years there, we wanted adventure and didn’t want to settle into life’s next steps. We felt that it was a now or never decision. At the same time, we lost my father-in-law unexpectedly to a heart attack and our perspective on life really changed. My husband and I reprioritized our goals and wanted to focus on collecting memories instead of collecting things, and focus on intentional living. So in 2019, we decided to sell our house, most of what we owned, and move to NYC to live out part of that dream. And the rest is history, NYC is still home and we are learning to navigate life in Manhattan with a little one!
I am happiest near the water or just being out and about, with a glass of rosé, trying a new vibey spot, my quiet time with the Lord and spending time with family and friends.
The Backstory on the DL
What started as a way in 2019 to document our move to NYC, quickly evolved into something more. Over the years I have been the go to girl when it comes to details about a trip, gift idea or product to buy. After years of sharing custom itineraries and “worth-it” finds via text and email, the Detailed Local became a place where I could share and highlight the most “worth-it” discoveries across travel, home, and city life in one place.
The Detailed Local is my curated edit of the places, local businesses, and daily essentials that are actually worth the hype. My goal is for it to be the filter for the noise. I’ve done the deep-dives so you don’t have to!
