Visit Pass-A-Grille Beach in St. Pete Florida

Don Cesar hotel

The DL: Pass-A-Grille, yes that is the actual name of the town, is the southernmost end of St. Pete Beach. It is such a cute little beach town with easy access to shops, restaurants and most importantly the beach. The island is only a few streets wide so when driving you can look one way down the street and see the bay, then look the other way and see the ocean. We visited in mid March and it was a bit chilly in the mornings and evenings but nice enough to be at the beach during the day.

What To Do:

  • Visit the beach! There is paid parking spots of plenty all around the little town.
  • Visit Shell Key via cruise
  • Sunset/dolphin watch cruises
  • Deep Sea Fishing
  • Paddleboard
  • Visit Spa Oceana at the Don CeSar Hotel
  • Shop on 8th avenue – the main strip of restaurants and shops
  • Ride bikes

Where to Eat in Pass-A-Grille:

  • Brass Monkey – laid back food scene with a wide variety of food options
  • The Hurricane – not highly rated for food, but the rooftop is the perfect spot to grab a drink and watch the sunset.
  • Sea Critters Cafe – one of my favorites, the shrimp dishes are so good. Make sure to request a table outside so you can see the boats go by.
  • Seahorse – beach breakfast
  • The Rooftop at the Berkeley Beach Club – you get a view of the bay and gulf on this rooftop, a must visit
  • The Dewey, also the Berkeley Beach Club – one of the more upscale places to eat
  • Paradise Grille – casual eatery by the beach

There were a few boutique hotels in the town of Pass-A-Grille but many more further north (10-15 minutes) in the St. Pete area if trying to decide on where to stay. We were actually staying in Clearwater but made a day trip down (30 minutes) to visit and will look into staying down in Pass-A-Grille next time we are down.

All in all, a super cute and laid back beach town with a few restaurants and shops in the downtown. Plan to have a car, there is no public transportation options.
