One Week in Mallorca – What To Do, See & Eat

We went to Mallorca mid May before the hustle and bustle and I found it to be the perfect timing! I also was 6 months pregnant and this however wasn’t our babymoon but with over 300 miles of coastline I knew it would be the perfect getaway to just chill. The hardest part for me was figuring out which area we should stay, after research we decided breaking up the trip and staying in 2 places was ideal. The mid east then the north west. If I had more time I would stay a third place more in the south. Here is everything we did, ate and saw for a week in Mallorca!

Things to Know

  • YOU MUST RENT A CAR, the highland is small but spreadout and relying on public transit and rides can be tough especially if getting to remote beaches. I watched so many videos of people saying they got stranded at beaches and didnt have a ride back.

How to Get to Mallorca

  • We flew from JFK to Madrid and then Madrid to Mallorca, but there is now a direct flight out of Newark to Mallorca
  • Once we landed we picked up our rental car and then we were off! You really actually need a rental car if you plan to go anywhere besides your hotel FYI.

Where to stay in Mallorca

  • First you need to figure out which areas you like and then I reccommend doing 50/50 – we stayed half of our trip in Valdemossa and then the other half
  • Palma was good just going for the day, it was super grunge and touristy feeling for us. Or else a great central spot if you are planning to go somewhere new every day.

Valdemossa – a small village on the north west coast thats the perfect middle ground for spots nearby on the West Coast. We stayed here, Mirabo De Valdemossa, a finca with origins in the early 16th century and in the middle of the mountains but a 5 minute drive to town. (You dont need more than 2-3 nights here).

  • Landed in Palma, and first stop was Mar Sea Club, at the Regis (15 min from the airport). A perfect spot to kill time before we drove and checked into our hotel in Valdemossa which is only like a 30-45 min drive from the airport.
  • Checked into the hotel and hung by the pool!
  • We had some friends in town for the weekend so we met up with them for dinner

We also did a day trip during this week to Soller and it was fine nothing I wouldnt do it again, its more of a drive through and hit a few spots type of town. We did however love driving the Sa Calobra Road around sunset – it was so beautiful! We did dinner at Nama in Deia.
