The DL: Here are 16 places to grab coffee in the West Village in NYC that aren’t Starbucks. Listed in order of location (top of West Village to the bottom (south)). Even though I am not an avid coffee drinker, my husband lives by it. We have checked out every coffee shop in West Village and here are our top 16!
- The Elk – rustic coffee shop, also have teas, small bites, and local grocery items for sale. Limited on seating.
- Sogno Toscano – a tuscan inspired Italy coffee shop and deli, also selling tuscan goods. Quaint and charming atmosphere, good amount of seating. A great coffee shop in West Village as well as many other things.
- Oslo – a local coffee shop serving mostly to go as seating is limited, fresh pastries from local bakeries
- Rosecrans – an instagrammable coffee shop set in a flower shop, also have many tea options
- Cafe Kitsune – a Parisian all day cafe and wine bar that has a no laptop policy, lots of seating options
- St Jardim – coffee shop by morning, wine bar by day, local natural groceries, great vibes, decent seating
- Bar Pisellino – all day cafe for espresso and cocktails, gets packed quickly
- Amano Cafe – local brewing, popular order is their rocket fuel, good people watching spot, and yummy açaí bowls
- Blackstone Coffee Roaster – a grab and go spot that is a local favorite
- Prodigy Coffee – an espresso bar serving coffee from around the world, limited seating
- Bluestone Lane coffee – instagrammable, lots of seating, good gluten free options (2 locations in west village)
- Blank Street – one of the newest spots to town, started out of a cart and now has a storefront, no seating, minimalistic style, a popular local chain
- Hungry Ghost – 13 locations, founded by immigrants from Turkey, great coffee in West Village, good seating
- Merriweather – Australian cafe that gets pretty packed, I have heard mixed reviews on coffee but I like their iced chai tea
- Daily Provisions – also grab a BEC here its delish, good spot to work remote, ample seating
- Maman – an instagrammable coffee shop that has quite the following thanks to their cookie being named on Oprahs top list. Also serve food and have decent amount of seating.
