The DL: NYC rooftops are the best way to see the City with a drink in hand no matter what time of year. After trying 50+ NYC rooftops, below is a round up of my favorite and must visit NYC rooftops.
12 best NYC rooftops
- Westlight – one of my all around favorites, located in Williamsburg with great views of the Manhattan skyline. Come for the indoor restaurant, or just a drink on the roof. Best in warm weather.
- Jimmy – my favorite summer rooftop, pool side drinks, best at sunset, fun dj at nights indoor as well. Located in soho, best in warm water as the indoors is small.
- Le Bain The Standard Roof – the inside can get pretty rowdy, but the outdoor area is a little more calm and has clear glass walls making it the perfect spot to grab a cocktail at sunset or late at night.
- Panorama Room – A great spot for out of towners, take the Roosevelt tram over for an extra fun experience. Located on the top of the Graduate hotel on Roosevelt island. Unique drinks and views of Manhattan and Brooklyn.
- Daintree – one of the few rooftops you don’t need a reservation for, even though recommended if you want to face empire state building. Their floor to ceiling windows make this a great fall/winter spot they have a small outdoor space as well. Happy hour from 4-6.
- Nubeluz – One of the newest and hottest rooftops in NYC. Located at the top of the Ritz, you can’t go wrong with the class or views her. Small outdoor area, more for indoor seating. Get a reservation.
- The Skylark – a large outdoor and indoor space located in Times Square makes this a great before or after broadway drink spot, or large group of tourists in town. Great for all seasons and group sizes.
- The Ready Rooftop – Part of the Moxy Hotel, this is actually one of the most casual rooftops in the City. Feel like you are in someones backyard with the coolers and greens set up, come for happy hour and some cheap tacos.
- Mr. Purple – a younger crowd on the lower east side, and pretty well known with tourists I still love this rooftop lounge. Located on the 15th floor of Hotel Indigo and pool side views of the City.
- Broken shaker – located atop of the Freehand hotel, this rooftop has all the vibes of summer jungle with a Mexican influence. Large indoor and decent outdoor space.
- Harriets rooftop – located on the roof of the 1 Hotel in Brooklyn. This spot has views of Manhattan and an upscale menu. Open 11-midnight daily, perfect for an afternoon cocktail or night cap.
- Bar Blondeau – a French bar on top of the Wythe hotel. Unobstructed views of the Manhattan skyline and also a great restaurant with a seafood-forward menu. Come here for a martini, natural wine or zero proof beverages.
