The DL: So known to many my husband is a burger connoisseur and wherever we live or travel we try out the local burger spots. Here is our top seven spots on where to grab a great burger in West Village, New York:
1. 4 Charles Prime Rib
One of the priciest on the list, but my favorite out of all. With white-glove service whether in person or since COVID hit they offer takeout for the first time (they still include white gloves in your to-go bag), this burger has a cult following and there is a good reason why.
2. Fairfax
I mean you cannot come here and not get the burger. It was sister to the old spot Bar Sardine that went out and they took on their famous burger, this is a MUST.
3. Wilfie and Nell
Their dry aged burger comes with red onions, pickles and a house mayo and make sure to add some cheddar and bacon to round out the meal. Even though Wilfie and Nell is known more as a bar, their locally sourced food is top notch.
4. Corner Bistro
One of the oldest and most affordable establishments in the West Village, they are known for their legendary burger that is as simple and basic as it gets but just as something about it that makes it so good.
5. Leroy House
A neighborhood favorite this burger has bacon, cheddar, LTO, pickles and a house sauce that is delish and semi addicting. This restaurant is located in the bottom of a townhome and super fun.
6. Cafe Cluny
With a couple burger options; the impossible burger, yellowfin tuna burger and the odeon burger you can find a burger for everyone. We tend to get the odeon burger when we brunch here.
7. Pizza Loves Emily
I know, you are thinking how can a pizza place have a good burger? Trust me try it and get some pizza as well, the curly fries here are not my favorite compared to others on this list.
8. Minetta Tavern
An old school New York spot, that is impossible to get a reservation for but when you do its worth it. Known for their 2 burgers that are pretty pricey – they tasted similar to me so if price is an issue try the cheaper option.
9. Bandits
This vintage style cocktail bar honestly serves a delicious smash burger, the old diner type of one. Need a resy to get indoors.
