My name is Kristina, I am a New York-based content creator and founder of The Detailed Local, your go to resource for all things local travel, fashion and wellness. I was born and raised in South Florida and over the last decade have lived in multiple cities all over the South, but have lived in Manhattan since 2019. I am married to my favorite person in the whole world, Cameron Coleman. He occasionally makes a debut on instagram.
Creation of The DL: In 2019 I created The Detailed Local as a way to share about our new life in NYC and our travels without spamming my friends and family. I have a passion for travel and constantly find myself researching and keeping up with the local details of every place I visit or plan to visit, and now The Detailed Local is a way to share about the hundreds of places I have been. For the last several years, I kid you not, I get multiple texts and emails weekly asking for an itinerary or insight on cities I have been to all over the World. Now living in New York that has tripled. I realized there was a need for this, so I decided why not just share my research with everyone and that is how The Detailed Local was formed! Giving you the “DL” on your next travel destination, making travel simple.
The foundational mission of The Detailed Local is focused on bringing you “The DL” on how to look and feel your best while traveling the world like a local. We are all about supporting local fashion brands, incorporating wellness in your lifestyle, and curating detailed travel guides so you can feel like your best, look your best, and travel like a local on your next trip.

Why Travel: I have always focused on collecting memories over things, and that is what travel brings me. I have found that most people are overwhelmed and tend to go back to the same places because it’s just easier. I hope that The Detailed Local can help with that.
Why Fashion: I have never been one to spend a lot on clothing, I did win best dressed in high school but I loved finding a good deal – I always thought that was more impressive. Since moving to New York my eyes have been opened to what fashion can look like. Especially when it comes to meeting local designers and brands. As a small business owner myself its imperative to support other small and local business owners. I hope through this page you can find good deals and new local brands to support.
Why Wellness: I have a background in healthcare marketing and communications and have worked at some of the most prestigious Academic Medical Centers in the Country. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition in 2021 and this is where my new wellness journey began.
Why did you move to NYC: We wanted adventure and felt that it was a now or never decision. In 2017, we lost my father-in-law unexpectedly to a heart attack and our perspective on life really changed. My husband and I reprioritized our goals in life and wanted to focus on collecting memories instead of collecting things. So in 2019, we decided to sell our house, most of what we owned, and move to NYC to live out part of that dream.
