Most of my life was spent growing up in Florida, never did I imagine that I was missing out on one of the most beautiful beach towns in my own state! A few years ago my husband and I visited Alys beach with his family and we have been obsessed ever since. Here is a guide to a perfect weekend in Alys Beach!
The DL: Alys Beach, (pronounced Alice) is a private little beach town in the Florida panhandle. Right off of 30a this little slice of paradise has a picturesque architecture that will make you feel like you are at a 5-star resort overseas. The motto of Alys beach is “Where every detail makes luxury seem simple and a life of beauty, simplicity, balance, and grace still thrives. This is life defined.” I mean if that doesn’t convince you to visit, I don’t know what will.
What to do:
1. Beach
All of the beaches in this area are reserved for owners and their guests or those staying in Alys Beach. You will most likely get a code or key that will allow you on the beach.
2. Explore the architecture and greenery
Every courtyard includes at least one water feature — a fountain or pool or even both. In several sections of Alys Beach, the plants are actually edible and available to those living in Alys to use in their kitchens. It is even said that there is a “Mojito Alley” where mint and lemons grow and a “Daiquiri Garden,” where strawberry and mint grow.
3. Shop
There are a few local boutiques and the more well-known one Alys shop that is a favorite stop for many. Additionally, for more shopping options go to Rosemary Beach or 30A avenue which has a shopping and dining center a few minutes away from Alys beach it is just off HWY 98.
4. Wine and Dine
Check out options below! Pictured above is Caliza.
5. Bike Around Town and 30A
6. Check out the Trails
With 8+ town parks check out where they all reside within the design of Alys. To the north, there is also a nature perserve of over 20 acres with wooden boardwalk trails.

For a more budget-friendly option check our Seacrest and Rosemary Beach which are “neighboring” little beach towns within walking and biking distance of Alys Beach.
In conclusion, whether you can take time to stay for at least a weekend in Alys Beach (or somewhere nearby) or just driving through for the day its worth a stop!
