The DL: Greenpoint, Brooklyn is an evolving hipster neighborhood that used to be home to a big Polish-American community, and walking around on the streets you will still hear the language spoken. Highrises and new restaurants are popping up left and right but still has an old school feel. There are a ton of spots to explore, here are 7 things to do in Greenpoint Brooklyn:
1. Check out the food scene on Franklin street ( Chez Ma Tante – Canadian inspired cuisine, Anella or Esme for brunch, Bakeri – pastries and coffee, Oxomoco – mexican)
2. Shop Local in Greenpoint Brooklyn (Only in NY, Big night Brooklyn, Tend, Mirth, Wolves Within, Word, Feng Sway, Local Color, so many vintage clothing shops)
3. Stop and grab a drink (Coast and valley – wine bar, Torst – popular draft beer spot, Grand republic cocktail club, Ramona – a 2 story craft cocktails, try the Handsome Grandson, The Hidden Pearl – Japanese cocktails)
4. Visit one of the Greenpoint Brooklyn parks (Eavesdrop – an upscale listening bar (records) with food and drinks, Kingsland Wildflowers Green Roof & Community Engagement Center, Newton Creek Nature Walk, WNYC Transmitter Park)

How to get to Greenpoint Brooklyn:
The G line is really the only option, its not a terrible walk from the L and you can see Williamsburg along the way, that’s what I did. There is also a ferry stop in the summer, but check schedules.
